According to the Brigham City Master Plan 2000, "Brigham City's first library, constructed and supported by the local Young Men's Mutual Improvement Association of the LDS church, opened in 1898 and was deeded to the city in 1913. After voters approved a tax levy for maintenance, the Carnegie Building, completed in late 1915, served the city over 60 years without significant change."
After the Carnegie Library was built, the MIA Library was moved directly east to the lot north of the Davis Rooming House (formerly Abraham Hunsaker's home and then a hotel) and was used as a home until the area eventually became the Professional Center of 111 East Forest St. You can see a portion of the MIA Library just north of the rooming house in the second pic.
The MIA Library and Carnegie Library pictures are from the Compton Collection from the USU Merrill-Cazier Digital Library. The Carnegie Library was from 1937, the interior of Carnegie Library from 1918, and the MIA Library pic is circa 1906. I don't know who took the pic of the Davis Rooming House and would like to give credit if anyone knows.
